the Tier 1 visa, use to be called The Highly Skilled Migrant Programme or HSMP, works on a points based system.

95 points is needed to qualify for this visa. these points are made up of;
• education (including extra for qualifications gained in the UK)
• previous earnings
• previous employment experience
• english language skills
• fund

• You now need a Masters Degree and not a Bachelor's Degree.
• You also need to be earning a salary of 20k pounds and over.
