i'm going to put it out there. i LOVE hostelbookers.com!
with there new Web 2.0 state of the art website, it makes searching and booking a Hotel or Hostel an absolute breeze. they have now over 100 London venues to choose from , ranging from Apartments to Hotels, guesthouses and Hostels.
a must check out is there review section where you can base your decision on other peoples experiences and perhaps tribulations. and you can even now check out video walkthroughs of a lot of places so you can get a feel for it before you get there.
if you don't have a place to stay in London when you first get there, we absolutely recommend staying in a hostel as you'll get to meet a lot of people who are in the same boat and there to enjoy London as well, so your bound to find a partner in crime or two!
you can use the booking engine above to suss out availability of accommodation on your dates of arrival.
and honestly if you click search now, then sort the venues by RATE then you really can't go wrong with any of the top 6 or 7 hostels.

Hi Belle,
Afraid this is the case! Can’t believe it myself really but we have basically had some major issues with our local residents over the years and finally the council had to act and have issued an injunction on us trading.
We are frantically looking for a new building at present but to date we have had no joy.
We will be closing on the 28th April.
Ok so this is what Globetrotter has to say about themselves; Overall, Globetrotter Inns offer an unbeatable blend of value for money, comfort and security, and without doubt the best gateway for your adventure to England and Scotland!

Easy Roommate.com Review

if you've tried gumtree, TNT mag and maybe even The Loot and found that its a whole lot of hit and miss with trying to find a flat, then Easyroommate is for you.
so the usual deal with flat hunting is that you come up with a rough budget for what you want to pay per week / month and then decide on an area you like, ie South West London, East London etc and then you start hitting up website classifieds and magazines. then you find a few you like, call them up and if by fluke it's still available, go see it, to find out that your potential flatmates are serial farters in the making.
easyroommate is like a dating service for flatmates. You create yourself a profile that decribes you, in terms of your occupation, whether you smoke, like pets, your sexuality and how much you want to pay in rent, then easyroommate matches you with houses that best match your profile so you can find the perfect room without the hassel of travelling all around London in the hopes of meeting people just like you.
A basic membership is free, but is limited to whose houses you can see and a premium membership costs 15 quid for 5 days or 30 quid for 30 days and gives you free reign of the site and its users.
Caters also if you have a room to rent if your travelling etc and want to flog it off for a month or 12.

to be honest, I barley used Loot when I was looking for a house to rent in London. it’s a paper that comes out every second day I think, with loads and loads of listings for renting, buying, sharing and houses in London. it’s worth a cross reference, but loot is usually used by people that are hanging around London for a long period of time, that aren’t really looking for that traveler type stay. its aimed more at the ancestry visa stayers, or the sponsorships people.
Loot has also gone on line at www.loot.com so if you did want to have a quick look, you can now check out the rental properties on line. makes more sense in this day and age then waiting for the paper that comes out
