MyLondonMap is a really ingenious way to plan where you are going. It has everything one can ask for in a map. Sometimes, it’s way too scary in a different city to use the public transportation system and you end up spending all of your time and money on cabs or just your energy on long, tedious walks. MyLondonMap gives you a perfectly readable and comprehensive map of the underground lines, stations and all of your possible destinations.

Street Sensation is officially my favorite guide to London. We came to the U.K. for my husband’s job. I was working as well, freelancing, but I had plenty of free time. And I had already seen all of the main sightseeing attractions. So I wanted to see more of the real London, but not by turning punk and hitting the bars. When a friend suggested Street Sensation, I was a little wary; it’s hard to find reliable online guides and reviews done by real people with first-hand knowledge.

AskMaps is a comprehensive service that was one of the first of its kind to come out. The name is a little misleading because it offers much more than just maps. But the maps are remarkable. You can view and print the same landmark or intersection from different angles and viewpoints, and at various magnifications. You can get a map for almost any corner of the globe. You can use it to find hotels, flights, activities and many other travel references.

Streetmap really helped make our trip to London so much better. Their plug-in took up practically no time to download and not much space on my laptop, and I could map everything out before I went anywhere. So I did. I mapped out routes to places I intended to visit. It was so easy and pretty fun, so when I would pick something new I wanted to see, I would map out where it was in relation to the bed-and-breakfast we were staying at in Bayswater.
