totaljobs
The commercial recruitment website

I checked out a bunch of the big international job sites everyone says to register with, but I really found nothing substantial. I didn’t have time to keep doing searches and applying for jobs all day while I was at work.
I then joined totaljobs at the suggestion of a friend, and it was very well worth it. Totaljobs only serves the UK, so they are quite focused on the needs of people living here, rather than trying to find employment for people in all 140 countries. It also means they have fewer jobs, but in return, they have more personal contact with the employers. Even though the job search was all done online, mainly through email, it seemed more effective and certainly less stressful because I already knew I wasn’t competing with the whole world. Anyway, they got me the best results and fast. I was also able to fix up my CV with their help. I had some pretty great interviews and follow-ups within a few weeks. Eventually, I landed a new job that was more within my field and pay range.
