Where not to Stay in London
and this is exactly why Nick and I look into every single company that wants to be a part of moving2london.com
I got a facebook message from one of our movers today and I was really upset to read it.
this mover had used a site that had been posted on our M2L facebook group hat we hadn't endorsed. the website was www.londonaccommodation.net
the guy that posted the link + photos of londonacommodation.net on our FB group hadn't introduced himself to Nick or me, hadn't asked if he could post to our users - he just did it.
now, before I even knew about this note from our mover, about how shocking her experience was, I emailed this guy to tell him I had taken down all his links, posts and pics because he hadn't asked us. ( apparently he now hates moving2london because of this..see below message..)
In the world of social networking and web 2.0, it's just not cool to post or comment or 'advertise' your business or service, on a site without asking first. I think it's just rude!
and so I took his stuff down and now I'm really I did.
this is the note I got from our mover today
We have arrived in the UK YAY
However our first week was awful, stayed with www.londonaccomdation.net and i still almost 2 weeks later have a massive rash under my arm...they were sooo rude and unhelpful...when we said we wanted to find our own apartment outside of dreary kilburn they kicked us out and we were homeless...we had to leave our bags at a hostel at Waterloo station because we weren't allowed to leave them at the hostel...so scary because it was a Saturday night and all other hostels were booked...
and we asked the guy who runs it "Gareth" about your company, and lets just say he doesn't like you :(
so yeah we are trying to lodge feedback about it on the websites but it won't let us because i dont want anyone else who is moving overseas to be homeless like we were...we almost had to sleep in a park...but we found a permanent place to live right at the last minute in Hammersmith and love it here YAY

so I guess, I wanted to pass on this warning onto everyone and tell you guys NOT to use this service and also to let you know - Nick and I are looking out for you. if you want to run anything by us before you commit to it - shoot it over to us. there is no way we want this shit happening to anyone else.
if anyone has had a good experience with the above, let us know. if you agree or disagree with my FB etiquette, also let me know. love to hear some thoughts on all of this.
